Emilee Grossi, MSW, Supervisee In Social Work

Emilee Grossi, Supervisee in Social Work, believes in the value of providing guidance, compassion, and most importantly, grace, to clients navigating challenging life experiences. As Maya Angelou states, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

Emilee approaches her clients with the expectation that they are the subject matter experts of their mental health. She uses a person-centered approach to guide and facilitate the goals set forth by themselves. She provides unconditional positive regard for the challenges and strength it takes to be present and to care for one’s mental health, and her approach is tailored to the specific needs of her clients. Emilee has experience working with individuals experiencing systematic inequalities, transitions, life stressors, relationship challenges, substance use, anxiety, and depression. She has experience working with those diagnosed with serious mental illness, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia disorders and subtypes. She specializes in trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences.

Emilee obtained her BS in Psychology from The College of William and Mary, and her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining the team at Resilience, Emilee worked as an Emergency Services Clinician, where she supported underserved and marginalized populations to assist them through behavioral health crises. She works with families, couples, and individuals aged 8 and up.

Emilee was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and moved to Virginia in 2016. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her friends, family, and animals. She enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, staying outdoors, practicing yoga, and attending community events.
