THERAPIST
Fred Zumwalt, LPC
Fred Zumwalt, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), is a seasoned counselor who believes there is not any mental health challenge too big or complex to be dealt with in some fashion—any person can and should be able to find some level of contentment in life.
Mr. Fred has and continues to volunteer and work in community and professional mental health, housing, aging, and faith-based organizations. Mr. Fred’s key intervention with anyone is active and engaged listening to give space to individuals to tell their stories, share their hurts, expand on their dreams, and set their own healing goals.
In working primarily with individual older teenagers and adults, Mr. Fred brings both life experience and training to conversations about moderated intentionality in breaking bad habits, exploring life and death with the associated feelings of happiness and grief, the importance of community, the contrasts and tensions between beliefs and behaviors, dealing with diagnosed and undiagnosed personality issues, and having meaning and purpose in life. Mr. Fred is also experienced in dealing with anxieties, depression, interpersonal relationships and skills, and in planning and goal setting.
Mr. Fred enjoys engaging on a personal level with individuals who desire and appreciate a safe and non-judgmental environment. The primary intent in sessions is to provide attentive listening in a calming setting.
