Madison Robinson, Resident in Counseling, provides a creative, integrative approach to helping people grow and seek more meaning in their lives by weaving a unique blend of evidence-based therapeutic techniques to fit each person’s needs.
Madison has a wide range of experiences working with adults and teens in inpatient, residential, school, and outpatient settings on a variety of concerns to include substance use disorders, eating disorders, psychosis and schizophrenia, post-traumatic and acute stress, mood and anxiety disorders, and relationship challenges. As a military spouse, she’s lived all over the country and seen a little bit of everything and is committed to always learning and experiencing more! Madison brings warmth and authenticity to the counseling space, believing that meaningful change happens best in the context of a strong relationship. She will aim to help you find a path forward that aligns with your core values and strengths.
Madison primarily utilizes an individualized blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices, and expressive arts and experiential counseling with her clients. She is a double Hokie with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Virginia Tech, and is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. She works with individuals, couples, and families of all ages, but primarily 12+.
