Alexa Boothe, MSW and Supervisee in Social Work, helps children, teens, and adults to learn to navigate overwhelming emotions and works with them to formulate coping skills, solutions, and strategies to overcome life’s stressors. 

Alexa brings compassion and curiosity to her sessions with children, teens, and adults. She believes in the importance of identifying strengths in order to lay the foundation for growth and resilience in her clients. She is especially interested in working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Above all, Alexa believes in a collaborative approach to therapy and wants nothing more than to assist her clients in gaining or regaining autonomy over one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She has a special interest in assisting multiracial families navigate differing cultural traditions in order to strengthen their relationships.

Alexa is a trauma-informed therapist who utilizes TF-CBT, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy in her sessions. She received her Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has obtained clinical experience in residential and inpatient settings. Alexa is LGBTQIA+ affirming and practices with cultural humility. She works with families and individuals aged 8 and up.
