Dr. Andrea Cooper, Ed.D., LPC

Dr. Cooper is an Air Force veteran with a defense industry analyst background, transitioning to work in counseling in 2000. Her counseling experience includes mental health agency, university, and private practice settings in NoVA, MD, and DC.

She has graduate teaching experience and leadership roles in higher education. Her BA in Social Psychology is from Park University, MA Professional Counseling from American School of Professional Psychology/Virginia (2000), and a doctorate in Counseling, Education and Supervision from Argosy University/American School of Professional Psychology in Sarasota, FL (2008). 

She has recently relocated to the Richmond area, and works with adults in collaborative counseling modalities to foster self-awareness, resilience, and overall wellness. Her integrative approach incorporates aspects of CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and is informed by person-centered, psychodynamic, and existential theoretical models.
