April Bateman, Supervisee in Social Work, is passionate about coming alongside her clients to provide support and encouragement. Her goal is for each client to see the incredible value they have and for them to grow and heal so that they are able to live their lives fully. She has a great respect for people’s unique cultures, life situations, faith and belief systems.
April attended Grove City College for her undergraduate education, majoring in Sociology and Psychology with a minor in Family Studies. After several years of working in Human Resources and spending time in the country of Colombia, she attended Fordham University for her Masters of Social Work. April then became an LMSW in New Jersey and New York.
April has experience working in refugee resettlement, home-based therapy, school settings and communities. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families, supporting individuals who experience anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic health conditions, academic challenges, life changes, and domestic/relational violence. April also speaks basic conversational Spanish, and is able to utilize that with clients when needed.
April takes a holistic and integrative approach acknowledging the interplay of the body, mind, and soul. She incorporates neuroscience, spirituality, the outdoors, and practical life skills into her practice. She uses creativity, mindfulness and a trauma-informed approach with modalities such as CBT, Functional Family Therapy, and Faith-based therapy. April works with individuals aged 5 and up.
