April Bateman, MSW, Supervisee In Social Work
April attended Grove City College majoring in Sociology and Psychology with a minor in Family Studies.After several years of working in Human Resources and spending time in the country of Colombia, she attended Fordham University. April received her Master of Social Work and became an LMSW in New Jersey and New York.
April has experience working in refugee resettlement, home-based therapy, school settings and communities. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families, supporting individuals who experience anxiety, depression, PTSD, academic challenges, life changes, and domestic/relational violence.
April has a great respect for people’s unique cultures, life situations, faith and belief systems. She also speaks basic conversational Spanish. April is passionate about coming alongside people to provide support and encouragement. Her desire is for each client to see the incredible value they have and for them to grow and heal so that they are ableto live their lives fully.
She takes a holistic and integrative approach acknowledging the interplay of the body, mind, and soul. April incorporates neuroscience, spirituality, and practical life skills into her practice. She uses creativity, mindfulness and a trauma-informed approach with modalities such as CBT,Functional Family Therapy, and Faith-based therapy.
