Carrie Sheehan, MSW, Supervisee In Social Work

Known for her bubbly personality, Carrie Sheehan, LCSW, brings energy and positivity to every session, making therapy not just productive but enjoyable. Carrie creates a safe and welcoming space where clients can feel comfortable expressing themselves while processing their thoughts and feelings. Carrie has a genuine passion for helping others communicate effectively, as she believes that open dialogue is essential for healing and growth. 

Carrie was born and raised in Richmond, and grew up in a large military family. She received her Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Carrie specializes in working with teenagers and adults. She provides services for clients including but not limited to: anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, depression, identity and self-esteem issues, self-harm, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), substance use and addiction disorders, anger issues, personality disorders, along with communication and interpersonal issues.

Carrie is committed to non-judgmental acceptance and believes it is important to meet the client where they are at when beginning the therapeutic process.  She utilizes interventions across a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative style therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and a strengths-based approach.
