Daniel Owen, M.Ed., Resident In Counseling
Passionate about helping others, Daniel Owen, Resident in Counseling, hopes to help clients navigate the complexities of life.
After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 2015, Daniel moved to California, serving with AmeriCorps and working for various nonprofit organizations. Out west, he soaked in lessons about the powers of healing within community and nature. Following these experiences, Daniel moved back to Virginia, and obtained his Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Throughout the therapeutic process, Daniel is nonjudgmental, compassionate, curious, and hopes to help his clients find the wonders within life. Daniel is interested in and has experience working with issues such as finding healthy expressions of masculinity, stress and anger management, depression and anxiety, loneliness, and life transitions. Daniel’s theoretical orientation primarily includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. Daniel is trained in EMDR Therapy. Daniel is a trauma-informed, culturally humble, LGBTQIA-affirming therapist. He works with individuals aged 12 and up.
