Gabrielle Mischel, LPC

Gabrielle Mischel is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and a Registered Dance/Movement therapist who specializes in anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Gabrielle has experience working with all ages and strives to build a genuine, person-centered relationship with her clients. Using a solution-focused and motivational approach, Gabrielle’s goal is to provide her clients with skills that will help them understand themselves better. While using a multicultural lens within the therapeutic space, Gabrielle assists her clients in the process of boosting their self-esteem and confidence, while also supporting the process of empowering her clients to take on their life's challenges with confidence.

Gabrielle doesn't believe in a one-size-fits-all therapeutic approach and enjoys integrating creative arts like music, movement, play, art, and poetry within the therapeutic process to help her clients convey their emotions when words fail. Gabrielle's unique expertise as a dance/movement therapist brings an extra layer to her approach which allows her to integrate creative techniques like authentic movement and mindfulness to help reconnect clients with their mind and body connection. 

Gabrielle's work experience is extensive and diverse. She has experience at various levels of care, including inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient and outpatient, with most of her expertise in crisis stabilization and young adult life transitions. Gabrielle focuses on building skills to promote mental health stability and healthy relationships. She has worked with various challenges, including substance use, eating disorders, postpartum issues, anxiety, depression, self-discovery/growth, young adult transitions, and family conflicts. She works with individuals of all ages, couples, and families.
