Jamie Shull, LPC, NCC
Jamie Shull is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Counselor. She specializes in equipping children and adolescents with essential coping skills to confidently navigate life’s challenges. With expertise in Trauma-Informed Care and Attachment Theory, Jamie predominately utilizes play therapy interventions and Trust-Based Relational Intervention strategies. Her approach fosters a connecting, inspiring, and engaging environment for children and families.
Jamie’s passion for child development has taken her across the globe. She began her studies in child psychology working in Denmark, and a pivotal experience teaching children in Uganda propelled her to earn a Master of Arts degree from Geneva College. She has over a decade of experience as a school counselor in various K-12 schools in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Virginia. Her diverse background includes collaborating with families to address challenges including ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, trauma, and major life transitions like separation and divorce.
Jamie is known for her calm presence and language of hope, blending respect, empathy, curiosity, humor, and patience. She recognizes the uniqueness of every child and family, appreciating the vulnerability it takes for families to entrust her with their child's mental health. Jamie believes that parents and caregivers play a critical role in facilitating meaningful progress toward treatment goals, emphasizing their involvement in the therapeutic process.
Outside of her professional life, Jamie enjoys getting mud on her boots from the latest hiking trail, dancing in the kitchen with her playful boys, and relaxing on the front porch with her husband to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.
