THERAPIST
Kayla Gaffney, MSW, Supervisee In Social Work
Kayla received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Le Moyne College and then went on to complete her Master of Social Work from the University of Albany, State University of New York.
She is a Supervisee in Social Work and has been working in the mental health field since 2019. She has completed graduate-level internships at Capital District Psychiatric Center and Riverside Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She has a passion for helping individuals promote their well-being and lead balanced lives. Kayla has experience providing queer affirming care to children and adults. She has also worked with individuals with mood, adjustment, and trauma disorders. Kayla wants clients to feel empowered; the therapeutic journey is about creating skills that are applicable and long-lasting. Together we can work to reach your goals, improve emotional regulation skills, and promote factors that increase your emotional well-being.
Kayla’s approach to therapy is a culmination of different techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. A safe, non-judgmental, supportive, and empathetic approach is important to me as the client-centered approach creates a healthy therapeutic environment.
