Kristina Bonanca, LPC
Kristina Bonanca, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges with a compassionate and client-centered approach. With a deep belief in the human capacity for positive growth and development, Kristina acknowledges that various obstacles—such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship issues—can hinder progress and well-being. Her goal is to help clients navigate these challenges, fostering an environment where they feel safe to explore their difficulties and strengths, ultimately leading to meaningful and lasting change.
Kristina recognizes that beginning therapy can be a courageous yet daunting step. She is committed to creating a supportive, accepting, and non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to engage actively in their own therapeutic process. She utilizes a range of evidence-based techniques, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, with a strong emphasis on fostering self-awareness and promoting personal growth.
With extensive experience in community-based services, residential treatment, and outpatient care, Kristina has worked with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in helping individuals who have been affected by trauma, including PTSD and C-PTSD, and is passionate about supporting those coping with the emotional and psychological impacts of such experiences. In addition to her trauma work, she addresses a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, social skills challenges, and ADHD.
Kristina is trained in trauma-focused treatment modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Flash Technique, TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional). She is also a registered clinical supervisor, having held supervisory and director roles across various platforms.
