Lindsay Hively, MS, Resident In Counseling

Lindsay Hively is a Resident In Counseling. Eager to bring her knowledge and skills to life, Lindsay aims to invest in every individual she meets. She earned her master’s degree in Counselor Education in December 2021. In 2019, Lindsay received her Bachelor of Science from the same institution she currently attends, Longwood University. She maintains an active student membership with the American Counseling Association, and serves on the Phi Chapter executive board for Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society for counseling.

Lindsay carries herself as an emerging helping professional, with a range of acquired experiences. She has partnered with The Discovery School of Virginia, an outdoor therapeutic boarding program for adolescents. Working alongside powerful young women, Lindsay advocated for group processes to self-regulate, heal, and evolve. Here, she also became familiar with the challenges of diagnoses, traumatic experiences, and major life transitions.

Lindsay previously worked for her university’s Career Services, where she fosters meaningful connections with students and alumni, as they navigate through their unique vocational journeys.

Throughout her graduate program, Lindsay has gained an appreciation for holistic, collaborative care and sensitivity to culture. It is her goal to create a counseling space filled with empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard to meet individuals right where they are. Ultimately, Lindsay believes that outward growth begins with inward change, and that inward change is powered by resilience.
