Shaneka Owusu is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor with a solid educational background and diverse clinical experience. Having earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Virginia State University in 2013 and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020, she is well-equipped to provide effective counseling services.

Throughout her academic career and professional practice, Shaneka has worked with a wide range of populations in various settings, including home-based, community-based, and residential services. Her expertise lies primarily in working with children, families, teenagers, and young adults, where she has effectively addressed the emotional and behavioral challenges they face. Her training enables her to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, enriching her practice with a broad understanding of various experiences.

Shaneka has specific experience in supporting individuals with emotional and behavioral disturbances such as anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma, self-esteem challenges, emotional dysregulation, suicidal ideation, and self-harming behaviors. Her approach to therapy focuses on creating a safe and welcoming space for patients, ensuring they feel heard and understood.

Driven by her passion for helping others, Shaneka utilizes a variety of techniques and therapeutic modalities to assist her patients in managing their emotions and developing adaptive skills for navigating life's challenges.
