THERAPIST
William Datta, LCSW, C-SOTP
My name is Will Datta and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in the mental health field since 2015. Prior to that, I received my undergraduate degree at James Madison University and completed my Masters at Virginia Commonwealth University. I have worked in a variety of settings including home based services, foster care, supervisory roles, and most recently in a Residential Treatment Center specializing in providing services to individuals with severe and persistent emotional problems and their families.
If you find it hard to talk or even think about the past, if you find yourself in unhealthy cycles or often ask yourself “Why am I continuing to have this problem?”, if you find yourself becoming overwhelmed easier than you have in the past, if you are experiencing a difficult time through life changes, or if you just need someone to listen, then I am here.
I utilize a person-centered approach and therapeutic techniques rooted in CBT, Solution Focused, and Trauma-informed interventions. Most importantly, I view the therapeutic relationship as the crucial aspect of the entire process. I approach issues with an empathetic directness where you will leave sessions feeling empowered as we understand that our struggles “may not be our fault, but they are our responsibility.”
Through these approaches I aim to serve individuals and families of all ages working through a wide variety of issues including but not limited to trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and support related to life changes. Let’s get to work!
