THERAPIST
Woori "Kay" Jun, M.ED., Resident In Counseling
Kay is a Resident in Counseling who desires to be a companion in your journey. She received her Masters of Education, in Counseling Education, from Virginia Tech. Kay finished her internship at Catawba Hospital, where she worked with a diverse population. She also comes from experiences working with children, teens, and adults who struggled with various mental health issues, relationship issues, and life problems.
Kay believes that every person is and will encounter life struggles. During those times, she thinks that everyone needs at least one person who can listen to their stories and walk with them toward wellness—and Kay wants to be that person. Her strength as a counselor is in her awareness of understanding how people come from different backgrounds. Kay's goal in therapy is to provide a safe and non-judgemental environment to help each individual to identify their authentic self and walk toward potential growth. Her focus on 'person centered counseling' will help find the strength and gift in the journey to wellness.
Kay loves helping clients and will work together to understand and help clarify thoughts and feelings underneath the surface of life struggles. Kay offers therapy in both English and Korean.
